The Tick Bite Hero test looks for the top three bacterial infections that are known to cause Lyme Disease in the United States.
- Borrelia burgdorferi

- Borrelia afzelii
Note: the final diagnosis and subsequent therapy should always be made and ordered by a medical professional.
This is what happens to your sample once it reaches our lab up until you receive your results in your personal Better Life Science dashboard:
- After arrival, your sample is checked to see if it is in good condition for processing.
- If your sample gets the green light for processing, it is prepared, extracted and then loaded into a PCR instrument called QuantStudio 5.
- After processing, the results of the test we just ran on your sample are loaded onto our servers.
- Before you receive your results, they are checked and approved by a scientist.
- Once approved, your results appear on your personal Better Life Science dashboard for you to view and download.
