Molecular allergy diagnostics allows for flexible, reliable, and accurate profiling of your sensitization status.

THE BENEFITS OF IN VITRO MOLECULAR DIAGNOSTICS

Molecular diagnostics allows for a flexible, reliable, and affordable profiling of a patient’s sensitization status.

We work with an allergen panel comprised of 117 allergen extracts and 178 molecular allergens, which makes it the largest panel of molecular allergens on the IgE allergy testing market. The use of molecular allergens leads to a much more precise risk assessment (e.g., the risk of anaphylaxis in a patient), a complete resolution of possible cross-reactivites, indication for immunotherapy, as well as differentiated dietary recommendations.

So why do we use both allergen extracts AND molecular allergens? We use allergen extracts where molecular allergens are not yet well-characterized or redundant due to a high degree of cross-reactivity. In return, we use molecular allergens where allergen extracts are unstable. This combination assures the most accurate profiling of a patient’s sensitization status.

Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) is a laboratory technique that detects small amounts of DNA in a sample. PCR can be used to detect multiple sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including bacterial infections like chlamydia and gonorrhea, and viral infections such as herpes and human papillomavirus (HPV).

BENEFITS

The benefits of PCR is that it is more sensitive and specific than previously available diagnostic tests, and it can test for multiple causative organisms simultaneously. PCR is also a good diagnostic tool for screening programs because it can perform analysis on hundreds of samples in a short time. .
