Step-by-step instructions are included in every kit. Blood-based tests: attach sample tube, warm shoulder 1-2 minutes, sanitize, press device to shoulder, let fill for 5 minutes. Our collection methods are designed to be quick and painless. The micro-sampling blood devices are largely painless. STD urine samples require no needles at all.

Yes — before mailing your sample, register your kit at mybls.mytests.io using the barcode on your kit. This links your sample to your secure patient portal.

Urine samples: do not urinate for at least one hour before collecting. Swab samples: do not clean the collection area immediately before swabbing. All kits: check expiration dates and collect on a weekday.

If you can ship the same day, refrigeration is not needed. If not, store in the refrigerator (NOT the freezer) and ship first thing the next morning. Do not delay beyond one day.

Results are delivered within 48 hours (two business days) of our lab receiving your sample.

Note: certain infectious disease results such as HIV, Syphilis, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C may be required by law to be reported to state or local public health agencies. This is a legal obligation separate from any action by Better Life Science.

Our lab checks sample integrity, then processes it using the appropriate methodology: PCR for bacterial STIs, immunoassay serology for certain viral analytes, or macroarray diagnostics for allergy testing. A certified scientist reviews all results before release.

Chlamydia and Gonorrhea are frequently transmitted through oral and anal sex and can establish infections at the throat or rectum with no symptoms at all.
