This at-home Lyme Disease test detects the presence of the following bacterium associated with Lyme Disease:

  • Borrelia burgdorferi
  • Borrelia garinii
  • Borrelia afzelii

*This test is intended to be used as an aid to the diagnosis of infections caused by Borrelia burgdorferi, Borrelia garinii, and Borrelia afzelii the primary bacteria associated with Lyme disease in the United States. It is not intended to be used for testing patients suspected of acquiring Lyme disease outside of the US. The results of this test should be used in conjunction with the physical assessment by a physician. Treatment decisions are the responsibility of a physician. Better Life Science does not diagnose or treat patients.

Your blood sample can be collected at any time during the day, but it is recommended to collect your sample in the morning prior to the arrival of your mail carrier.

You should be hydrated prior to the blood collection. Drink two glasses of water 30 minutes prior to testing.

Your sample should be collected Monday – Friday and returned on the same day.

  • Borrelia garinii
  • Borrelia afzelii

Note: the final diagnosis and subsequent therapy should always be made and ordered by a medical professional.

Symptoms of Lyme Disease:
  • Fever and chills
  • General ill feeling
  • Headache
  • Joint pain
  • Muscle pain
  • Stiff neck

Lyme disease causes a rash, often in a bull’s-eye pattern, and flu-like symptoms. Joint pain and weakness in the limbs also can occur.

Only 70% of people develop the “bullseye” rash commonly associated with Lyme disease after getting bit by an infected tick. If you think you were exposed and you’re experiencing fatigue, headaches, or joint pain, our test can help.

You should test if:

  • You have traveled to areas infested with ticks that can transmit Lyme bacteria (like black-legged ticks, castor bean ticks, and taiga ticks)
  • Found ticks on your body
  • Are experiencing symptoms like fatigue, headaches, or a rash.

If you are currently experiencing a bullseye rash, even if you are uncertain it was from a tick, please immediately seek live medical attention.
